AEX, AEX Index » INDICES » Europe - Netherlands - AEX Index AEX, AEX Index: The AEX index, derived from Amsterdam Exchange index, is a stock market index composed of Dutch companies that trade on Euronext Amsterdam, formerly known as the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. The index was started in 1983 under the name European Options Exchange (EOE). It is composed of the 25 largest funds that trade on the exchange and its composition is adjusted annually on March 1 to keep it current.
